Do I regret the time
we spent together?
What once made me smile
Now carry remnants of hurt in them
Memories tainted by guilt
Yours or mine?
All those nights spent in your arms
Seems so distant now
Riding on your bike
Holding you tight
Makes me reminiscent
Of a time that was solely ours
Were you a mistake?
One that I willfully made?
All I know is that regrets I have none
You were a part of me and continue to be

Beautiful verse. I like the way it ends.

DeleteBeautiful Aathira. Regrets are what make peoples lives a living hell. So I never regret. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Preethi :) Regrets we have none.
DeleteThe last line seals it. You can never forget anyone completely. They always will be a part of your life :)
ReplyDeleteExactly my point. Thanks Love :)
DeleteIt cannot be a mistake, as it was a choice and then it happened. Beautifully written.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteBeautiful!! I guess, she loved well, and therefore, it doesn't matter if he did or not.
ReplyDeleteAs the poem says, irrespective of whether things work out as we would have wished or not, we must never regret anything we do!
Glad the point came across so well. Thanks Titli <3
DeleteBeautifully written. Love can never be a mistake coz it teaches us so much no matter how much it hurts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ranveer :)
DeleteWell written Aathira :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jyo!
DeleteYou were a part of me, and I don't regret that. But you won't continue to be, and that is my decision to make. - My poem would end a little differently :P
ReplyDeleteThanks PeeVee :) I like your version too!
DeleteSuch a sweet poem and how true that can be at times if a favourable ending! ;) <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Elly :)
DeleteI absolutely loved this one! We can't really disown past experiences, they are a part of what we are.. Whenever I regret some action of mine, I tell myself that that was my choice at that time...that was exactly what I had wanted...otherwise I'll have to deal with too much guilt :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Vidya :) How true. It is our experiences, both good and bad, that have made us the person we are today.
DeleteBeautiful lines. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Love!
