She smiled at the ironic view from her hospital window. Such a serene view for a place which dealt with so much loss. Maybe it was to cheer the patients up. To remind them that life is not always bleak. Time was ticking by. The much dreaded moment came sooner than expected. She tried to reassure herself that she was doing the right thing. For her and the life budding inside her. The nurse assured that she would not feel a thing. The last thing she remembered before drifting away were the sterilized tools and the blue of the sea.

Wow. Totally unexpected. Powerful. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletenice take ..sometimes even when women are ready completely, they are forced to undergo abortions that is quite traumatic for them in the long run
ReplyDeleteYou are right Ankita. Some decisions cannot be undone later and regret leaves a bad aftertaste in their lives. Thanks for reading :)
Deletewhen women are NOT ready*
ReplyDeletesorry a typo blunder :P
I make them all the time :D
DeleteAh abortion is such a debatable topic. Wonder what made her do it. If it was because it was a female, then she deserves to not wake up.
ReplyDeleteOh yes.Abortion can always not be justifiable. I wanted to tell a bit more of her story but the world limit was restrictive. Maybe another story soon!
Deletenoooooooooooooo , i dont like the idea of her doing this .. it is murder and no it cant be right .. :(
ReplyDeleteBikram
That depends on her reasons. But yeah, personally, I feel it can never be justified.
DeleteYes it is. Thanks for reading Dawn :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sad but so true
ReplyDeleteYes :(
DeleteThe only good thing here is that the instruments were sterilised. Poor kid. Hope her life isn't too negatively affected by this.
ReplyDeleteThat depends on what led her to such a decision. But then, no matter what her reason, it's something that's bound to haunt her for the rest of her life. Thanks for reading, Patrick!
DeleteDear A,
ReplyDeleteThe word 'foeticide' in your tags sent shivers down my back. Fetus is merely Latin for baby. She may not feel a thing physically but she'll feel it in other ways. Well written. .
Shalom,
Rochelle
I didn't know that. It's sad that one chooses to end life :( Thank you, Rochelle!
DeleteIntense and deep !
ReplyDeleteI liked the way you described about the Ironic view from a hospital window. I wonder whether you penned down the fiction after you found the picture or you searched for the picture later. Anyways both are difficult to do especially when we need to match them exactly like you have done. :)
Thanks a bunch, Dear. I have used the photo prompt to write the story. I loveee your comments! Glad that you liked the story :)
