A new chapter

(Image copyright- Douglas M. MacIlroy)

She came home tired after a long day at work. Grabbed a couple of beers and lit those few scented candles that she had bought a long time back but never got around to using it. Switched on her laptop and propped her feet up. Tonight was the night that she would celebrate. Quitting her job had not been easy. But being stuck in a mundane job that held no passion for her was draining away her energy. She smiled, took a sip of the ice cold beer and began to write the first part of her book.

This drabble is written for Friday Fictioneers.

  4. The female alternative to the country song "Take this job and shove it . . ." I like how she is not in a state of shock that she actually quit, but propped her feet up and started writing. Very well done! Nan :)
