I walk down the winding road alone
Not knowing what the future holds
Uncertainty beckoning me
Holding me close in its clutches
I have come a long way now
There is no going back
Somethings are meant to be
And some are better cast off
I have scars to mark this journey
A few adorn me and others not
They have made me who I am
As I walk along the winding road

My legs are weary from the distance
But a fire keeps me burning
Until there is no turning back
Darkness threatens from within
But I know there is light
Towards the end which seems not so far
Baggage has to be shed behind
I must keep walking, along the winding road..
